Lisa's Bio

 Lisa Carter is a nationally recognized presenter, Keynote speaker, educational consultant and author. For over two decades, Lisa has devoted her energy and interest working to help teachers and administrators ensure quality educational opportunities for all students. Lisa began her career as an elementary school teacher in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She has served as an administrator at both the elementary and secondary level and has worked in rural and urban schools.

 In recent years, Lisa helped to establish and served as Executive Director and Lead Trainer for the Mayerson Academy for Human Resource Development in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Mayerson Academy is nationally recognized for its outstanding work in the professional development of teachers and administrators. Today, Lisa consults nationally with state departments, school districts and individual schools that are interested in improving in the areas of effective schools, effective teaching, leadership development and Total Instructional Alignment.

 Lisa is a talented and energetic presenter who is known for her sense of humor and down-to-earth style. Lisa understands what it takes to improve schools and meet the challenges of No Child Left Behind. She enjoys working directly with teachers and administrators and has a proven track record of helping low performing schools become high performing schools. Along with her private consulting business, she serves as an Effective Schools Associate for Dr. Lawrence Lezotte, the noted Effective Schools researcher and author. Most recently, Lisa has written and published her first book Total Instructional Alignment: From Standards to Student Success. Her second book, Five Big Ideas! Using the principle and Practices of Total Instructional Alignment to Transform Your School is due to be published in the fall of 2006. Lisa currently resides in Hope Mills, North Carolina with her husband, Mike.
