Michele Hurley, PT
Michele attended the
University of NY at Buffalo where she obtained two
degrees- one in Physical Therapy and one in Sports
Medicine. Michele has participated in several
continuing education courses such as: myofascial release for
children, obtaining certification to instruct children's
yoga, basic NDT courses, aquatic therapy, and theraball
instruction.
Michele has 16 years of experience with treating children of
all ages and abilities. She has worked with early
intervention children in a variety of settings including:
hospital, clinic, school, and home. Michele created an
adapted aquatic program and participated in adaptive skiing
for children with special needs while she was in New York.
Michele is a published author of the book

Leana Deuel PT, DPT
Leana received her docorate of physical therapy (DPT) from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. Leana currently works with the 0-3 population in the home setting. She performs evaluations for the local CDSAs to ensure the children receive services in a timely manner. In addition, she has worked with pediatric patients in a variety of settings including school based and volunteer work for a pediatric dance and movement class.
She has three years experience working with children ages 0-21 and adults in out-patient neurology, orthopedics and in the home with a focus on manual skills. Leana has experience with aquatic physical therapy, as well as evaluations for wheelchairs and other durable medical equipment.
Maureen Mann, DPT
Maureen is a licensed physical therapist who received her doctorate in physical therapy from Elon University in 2006. In 2006, she completed a six month internship at a children's hospital, where she worked with children ranging from premature infants to adolescents in acute care, pediatric surgical heart and intensive care, as well as inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. Upon graduation, she worked in an outpatient setting treating adults and children birth-21 years old until mid 2008.Maureen then went on to provide early intervention services in the home in the Johnston County region. She continues to work with early intervention providing service for children birth to three years of age in the home in several other counties including Cumberland, Harnett and Wake.
Maureen has participated in several continuing education courses related to pediatrics including: NDT Treatment of the Baby and Young Child, Pediatric Power Wheelchairs and Home/Van Ramps Workshop, The Obstetrical Brachial Plexus Injury, Safe Travel for Children with Special Needs, Developmental Orthopedics and Theratogs Applications for Neuromotor and Postural Training, Treatment of the Child with Whole Body Involvement (Ages 3 to Adolescent), and Pediatric Treatment Approaches.
Maureen has worked with a variety of diagnoses including, but limited to: Down Syndrone, Cerebral Palsy, Brachial Plexus Injury, Torticollis, Developmental Delay, Hyper/Hypotonicity, Toe Walking, Traumatic Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury. Maureen is from New York and has lived with her husband in the Raleigh area for five years. She began her professioanl life as a biomedical enginner for 4 years before she returned to school for physical therapy. With the birth of her first child, Maureen continues to enjoy her ability to work with children in early intervention.
Christa Rice, MPT
Christa received her master of physical therapy degree (MPT) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has done clinical rotations in a variety of settings, including working with pediatric patients in the home setting with emphasis on treating children under the age of 5. She also did volunteer work with a pediatric dance class after graduating from PT school. Christa currently works with children 0-3 years old in the child’s natural setting. She previously worked for several years treating children ages 0-21 and adults in an outpatient setting for functional impairments resulting from neurological disorders, developmental delays and orthopedic injuries. She has experience with land-based and aquatic therapy, orthotics and prosthetics (assessment and training), and evaluating for durable medical equipment and wheelchairs. Christa has experience with Kinesio Taping Techniques for child, Theratog Applications and Brushing Techniques for child with sensory needs.
