Total Instructional Alignment is a process for standards-based instruction that has proven to be a key strategy in creating high achieving classrooms, schools and school districts. The TIA process is comprehensive: from standards to aligned instruction to student success! Learn more about TIA and how the process is supporting educators across the country to successfully implement the national Common Core State Standards and prepare for national assessments.

Watch this video to see TIA in action and to hear what educators are saying about the Total Instructional Alignment process as they transition to national Common Core State Standards. This video showcases over 500 teachers from 40 participating school districts in southeast Idaho as they participate in the fifth annual Total Instructional Alignment Working Conference in June 2012.

The conference location is Pocatello, Idaho and it is sponsored each year by Idaho State University.

Lisa Carter, Founder and Creator of Total Instructional Alignment

Lisa Carter is a nationally recognized presenter, keynote speaker, educational consultant and author. For over two decades, Lisa has devoted her energy and interest working to help teachers and administrators ensure quality educational opportunities for all students. Lisa began her career as an elementary school teacher in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She has served as an administrator at both the elementary and secondary level and has worked in rural and urban schools. In recent years, Lisa helped to establish and served as Executive Director and Lead Trainer for the Mayerson Academy for Human Resource Development in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Mayerson Academy is nationally recognized for its outstanding work in the professional development of teachers and administrators. Today, Lisa consults nationally with state departments, educational regions, school districts and individual schools that are interested in improving standards-based education and increasing student achievement through Total Instructional Alignment.
